An Expressway That Goes Through a Building

The Hanshin Expressway is a network (239.3 km) of expressways surrounding Osaka, Kobe and Kyoto, Japan. Operated by Hanshin Expressway Company, Limited, it opened in 1962.

Portions of the Hanshin Expressway collapsed during the Kobe earthquake on January 17, 1995. These sections were rebuilt by 1996. The expressway was designed to be earthquake proof, so it did not break up, but toppled onto its side. Portions of the Osaka highway are featured in Tokyo Xtreme Racer 3, Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 3, and Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 3 DX.
